Title: Iron Man 3 (M)
Wow: what a belter. One of the most VFX laden movies this year (not as laden as Man of Steel, though, see here), Iron Man 3, I am loathe to say, is the end of the Iron Man trilogy. It’s sad to see Stark go, but anyone who even remotely admires the trilogy, even though apparently the second was pretty forgettable, is going to love this. Combining repulsor beams, Extremis (but not as you know it) flashbacks, more armors, actual emotion that isn’t arrogance or desperation from Downey Jr. and some hardcore baddie blasting, this makes for an explosive ending- and just what makes the Mark 42 armor so special? Don’t forget to make sure you can stand looking at bright lights for a long amount of time- cause damn, the VFX here are overpowering! A good plot with a final twist(s) and more emotion from Stark than just the usual arrogance make for a hell of a ride that will leave you dreaming of repulsors. The ending, however is a little bit disappointing in that- well,
THAT’S ALL FROM IRON MAN, FOLKS!
Yes, the trilogy comes to an end in this one, but you never know. Because this is the sequel to The Avengers (NOT Iron Man 2) maybe, as I look into my crystal ball, I predict that The Avengers 2 may be the sequel to Iron Man 3, and then maybe we’ll see another Iron Man film. But, well who knows? You never know what the whims of Marvel Comics may create; so be on guard for another Iron Man sequel.
